It's thunderstorming today! I love thunderstorms. I really miss them in the winter (and also warmth, joy and happiness) so I'm pretty excited. However they are not the easiest things to photograph, especially during a downpour. So I've decided to upload some photos from about a week ago. Enjoy! Does anyone know the name of the last one?
It's thundering here as well. April showers bring May flowers.... The last one is an Abutilon.
ReplyDeleteWHAT??!??!?! It looks so different from the other varieties. That's so odd.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see a really different and super cool Abutilon check out Abutilon vitifolium with blue flowers and fuzzy leaves or the hybrid Abutilon x Suntense. I have some vitifolium seedlings growing on my balcony from seed I collected 7 years ago but I think my climate is going to be too hot for them.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are wierd. The last one is a four square heart with a mini grape cluster. Okay, that's my made up name for it. I like the second one. Is it related to the Jack-in-the-Pulpit? No thunder here. 90F and lots of sun.

We've been having windstorms and chilly wintery weather. that combined with your tropical blooms makes me want to hop on plane to Hawaii. But I can't abandon my seedlings - that's commitment!
ReplyDeleteKaveh, at first I was a little underwhelmed but they look great when full grown. Very nice! They look like they belong in a big botanical garden in a really sunny spot.
ReplyDeleteChicken Boys, the actual name is "Four Square Heart Yellow Tutu Grape Cluster Delight". You almost got it though! The second one is Anthurium (Flamingo Flower). I think this one is the 'pig tail' variety. I'm a little jealous of the heat and sun!
Stevie, Yeah I heard about the crazy winds. We actually had a wind warning a few days ago here. You'll just have to get a greenhouse! We can never abandon our seedlings! :)
ReplyDeleteWe had the wind warning a few days ago and some light rain today but no thunderstorms. Maybe tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteThat Anthurium is really interesting.
Sure is. The full name is in the picture's link.
ReplyDeleteHad a massive thunderstorm a few nights ago. Darkness, sudden loud thunderclaps, wild wind, bright light in an instant becoming dark again......they are a sure sign summer is on the way!
ReplyDeleteLike the red images.
Gotta love it! I like the red too. I had a few pics I hadn't posted but most were red so I sensed a theme.
ReplyDeleteWOW...that FSHYTGCD is really really, really interesting!!!! (Four Square Heart Yellow Tutu Grape Cluster Delight). LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL Sure is! Love the Acronym. It brought it to a whole other level. :)
