Flower Friday - Pink

Lovely pink blooms to brighten your Friday.  The delicate petals of the begonia are my favourite.  How about you?

Rare Camellia Blooms in UK

Camellia "middlemist's red" had has burst into bloom in the UK.  The only other known specimens of this variety are in New Zealand (although there may be some in private gardens).  You can find out more here.

Camellia Ann O & Billbergia nutans

I've already uploaded some photos of this Camellia before but this flower was a bit different.  I'm not sure if this happens as it ages but there is a gradient from lighter petals at the centre to darker petals towards the edges.

I have been trying to get a good photo of this Billbergia for weeks.  I took thirty different photos in all different modes and this is the best one.  My camera just does not want to photograph this plant.  I think it may be some ancient feud because I have never had so much trouble taking a picture of a plant before.  Any ways, without further ado here are the true flowers of Billbergia nutans.

Camellia Ann O

I have been watching this Camellia for months.  It is covered with hundreds of buds, but they have been doing absolutely nothing.  Well, the first bloom has finally opened!  It's a beautiful flower and I'm glad I can share it with everyone.  I'll make sure to update with more pictures as the other ones start to open.  Hopefully I can get a picture of it covered in blooms.
