Evergreen Clematis (Clematis armandii)

Today I went with Jame to the Civic Garden Complex for a walk. Over the last few days I noticed that there was a new vine flowering along a wall in the gardens. I couldn't make it out from the street so I was excited to finally get a closer look.

It seemed to be some variety of dwarf clematis but I had never seen one with so many flowers before. After we got home and a few minutes of googling I found out that it was an Evergreen Clematis. These are hardy from zone 6-9. They are absolutely beautiful. They can be a bit invasive in warmer zones so be weary. Full sun is a necessity.

  1. Oh wow, that's really beautiful. I'm just picturing a ton of honey bees all over it.
