Adenium arabicum Update III (38 Days)

These seedlings are now about four months old (well at least planted four months ago).  After transplanting them they went into shock and stopped growing for about two months.  They were then attacked by mites.  They've started to recover and some are really taking off.  There are three that are a good size and the rest are about a third as big (they haven't resumed growing yet).  Below you can see the three healthiest.  It's interesting to see the variety, especially in the trunks.  These are hybrids and there will likely be a variety of trunk forms and flowers.

  1. I've seen these in our local nursery. They are quite striking. Do you know how long it will take for them to bloom?

  2. When grown in a greenhouse (especially in Thailand) it is about six months or so. In excellent conditions they may flower in two but this is very rare. I don't expect anything until summer next year. Hopefully I won't have any more mite issues!

  5. They sure are! There one of the most interesting things I've grown from seed. I really hope they do well and can't wait for the first flowers.
