Carex lupuliformis Rare Sedge

Carex lupuliformis is an extremely rare sedge in Canada. There are only roughly ten small patches of if still growing in the wild. It is also rare, endangered or threatened throughout various regions of the Eastern United States. For some reason they really seem to dislike warm water as well as having their dead leaves removed. The greenhouse has been growing about twenty plants and they've flowered this year for the first time. The seeds will be collected and more plants will be grown. Eventually they will be planted in select areas throughout London and the surrounding area.
