I'm not sure. Several of those plants when pruned here and there won't do that unless they are severely pruned back which I still wouldn't do. How long ago did you prune?
Pruned about a month ago. I just did a second pruning. I've read in several places that they should be pruned every two leaves or so. That way they don't get caney.
